The Con Job and How to Make Me Content That He Will Be Late | theremustbeawayout's Blog

H calls all bright and cheery, a smile in his voice, sounding like he actually is looking forward to talking to me.  But what he has to say is that a machine is broken and he will be late.  Maybe we can do something when he comes home.

Today is usually Movie Night.  As of today I am ceasing to call it "Date Night," because it always involves going to movies that H wants to see.  I like action pix, but don't want to see a movie just to see a movie. 

Further, I did make H agree to a Big-Bang style relationship contract.  Tonight he is supposed to make good on the first of the bi=weekly appointments  for footrubs.  Of course he didn't remember this in our conversation, although it is on his calendar with a reminder set.

The Con:  Notice how he tries to soothe me with a lovely and attentive attitude.  If I did not already know that he is a workaholic and is incapable of lying unless he is also lying to himself, this interchange would make me think he was having an affair.
